MACON, Georgia -- Business mogul Donald Trump demanded on Monday that CNN, the host of the next GOP debate, pay him $5 million to participate, with the proceeds to be donated to veterans.

"I won't do the debate unless they pay me $5 million," Trump said.

Car crashed into Polk County house


Davenport, FL -- Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to 12 Cottonwood Drive, Davenport at approximately 4:16 am, on Sunday, June 22, 2014, in reference to a report of a vehicle crashing into a house.

Deputies are currently looking for a pickup truck, described as a silver or light colored, extended cab 2000 Dodge Ram, which was observed in the neighborhood and failed to maneuver a curve in the road.

Pedestrian hit, killed by patrol car in Polk Co.


Auburndale, Florida -- A 56-year-old man was killed Friday morning after he was hit by a Polk County Sheriff's deputy at an Auburndale intersection.

Investigators say around 6 a.m., 21-year-old Polk County Sheriff's Deputy William Tull has just finished his shift and was heading east on Havendale Boulevard in his patrol car when Martin Knoetzsch walked into the car's path at the 42nd Street intersection.

Diabetic Auburndale teen found


Sixteen-year-old Michael Nathaniel Banks has been located safe after he was reported missing Saturday.

Banks was last seen around noon when he left his apartment at 412 Century Blvd. in Auburndale.

Michael was going to the Ariana Market at the corner of Ariana Blvd. and Old Lake Alfred Road (just down the street from his home). He was riding a girl's maroon mountain bike.

Employee arrested in death of assisted living facility resident death


Lakeland, Florida – An employee of an assisted living center has been charged with neglect after not calling 911 when a resident began complaining of pain.

An investigation by the Florida Attorney General's Office investigation led to the arrest on Tuesday of Rachel Mobley, an employee of Grace Manor at Lake Morton in Lakeland.

Mobley, 22, has been charged with neglect of an elderly person or disabled adult from an incident from April 2013.

UPDATE: Missing 16-year-old Winter Haven boy found


Winter Haven, Florida -- UPDATE: Winter Haven Police say William Rostchild, 16, who went missing Wednesday night has been reunited with his family thanks to an anonymous tip to police.

Lakeland police shooting suspect concerned neighbors


LAKELAND, Florida -- Neighbors say more than five years ago they had warned police about Tommie Lanier's behavior, saying that he was "crazy" and had guns. Now, he is accused of shooting a police officer.

But after speaking with Lanier at the time, police determined he was "paranoid," but didn't pose a threat to public safety.

"They should have paid closer attention to it," said neighbor Tom Mallotta.

LAKELAND, Florida -- An exchange of gunfire at a Lakeland park on Tuesday morning left a police officer wounded and a suspect hospitalized.

UPDATE: Missing Winter Haven teen found


Winter Haven, Florida -- UPDATE: Winter Haven Police say 16-year-old Mckenzie Benton has been located and reunited with her mother.

Detectives said they followed leads throughout the day, which included her friends and strangers in the community. She was later found Monday afternoon in the Inwood area by detectives.
