Bartow, FL -- The Bartow Chamber of Commerce has announced that on June 2 at 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Polk County Historical Museum, the Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Development Series Continues.

A new Chamber Young Professionals development program is designed to offer young business professionals guidance in creating a professional development plan is being facilitated by leadership development and performance improvement consultant, Marcia Corbett.

There is one more hands-on session coming up, which will give participants information on using best practices in identifying clear, meaningful and actionable steps to drive professional growth.

Winter Haven, Florida -- The City of Winter Haven is offering you a chance to become a ballroom dancer.

Each Tuesday evening from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. at the Senior Adult Center, a live DJ will play a variety of music as dancers kick up their heels for ballroom dancing. 

They will be learning the fox trot, waltz, swing/jive, rumba, polka and many others.

Winter Haven, Florida -- The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence will be hosting free, live information sessions about its online teaching certification program.

On May 25 and May 26, ABCTE will visit Lakeland and Winter Haven. 

The information sessions will include a 45-minute to one hour-long introduction to the program and offer an opportunity to have questions answered in-person by members of the ABCTE staff.

Summer Camp Bash in Bartow

Bartow, FL -- The Bartow Bash Summer Camp for children who have completed Kindergarten through age 12 will begin June 20  at the Carver Recreation Center.

Camp times are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

The eight-week program includes daily lunch, recreational swimming, swim lessons, arts & crafts, athletics, and field trips, all for one simple weekly fee. The fee for Bartow residents is $75.00 plus tax and for non-residents $85.00 plus tax. 

A $15.00 plus tax per-week per-child deposit is due to hold the spot in camp.  This deposit is applied to the weekly fee. 

This program qualifies for the Siding Scale Fee Assistance Policy.  Proof of free or reduced lunch is required when registering to qualify for the reduced rates.

Steps to Starting a Small Business will be held 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on May 11.

Disaster Planning will be held 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. on May 11.

Building the Ultimate Business Plan, Parts I and II will be held 1:30 – 5 p.m. on May 25.
