Lakeland, FL - Lakeland's Texas Roadhouse invites veterans and active members of the United States military to enjoy a FREE lunch on Monday, November 11.

Veterans - including all active, retired or former United States military can choose one of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/ice tea or coffee during lunch.

Guests must show proof of service such as military or VA card, or discharge papers.

Bartow, Florida-- The School Nutrition Department is offering families an opportunity to fill out a 2013-2014 application for free and reduced price meal program students unable to pay the full price for meals. 

To complete the application go to www.polk-fl.net and search keyword: Nutrition. There is also an option of completing a paper application at the school where the student will be attending classes for the upcoming school year.

Winter Haven, Florida -- If you have a police officer, firefighter, or EMS worker in your family, you can head to Legoland for a lot less in May.

The theme park is holding Police, Fire, and EMS Appreciation Days all through the month of May, 2013.

Anyone in those professions can claim a free one-day admission ticket and buy up to four more tickets for the discounted price of $40 each.

Winter Haven, Florida -- Splash and play for a lot less at Legoland Florida during some weekends in May if you live in Polk County.

During Polk County Residents' Days at the theme park, you can buy up to six tickets in advance for just $25. The tickets get you admission to both Legoland Florida and the Legoland Water Park.

Plus, a portion of each ticket sold goes toward helping children in Polk County.

One class took place yesterday, but as pictured above, residents can still catch classes on March 18 and April 15.
