FEMA encourages individuals and families to pledge to prepare during the month of September and encourage residents to make preparedness a part of their daily life every day moving forward.

Bartow, FL -- The City of Bartow apparently has enough cash on-hand, even with lower property values, to get the job done.

City commissioners voted unanimously this week to pass the city's $60 million budget plan without raising the property tax rate at all.

That means a person with a $200,000 home and a standard $50,000 homestead exemption can expect to pay about $600 in city taxes.
