Police search for BB&T bank robbery suspect

Lakeland, FL -- Lakeland Police are investigating a robbery at a local BB&T Bank Monday.

According to police, the man walked into the bank, located at 4420 US 98 N, around 2:10 p.m., and displayed a note demanding money. The man received an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank.

He was last seen walking southbound on US 98 and may have gotten into a vehicle.

No weapon was displayed during the robbery, but the suspect made implications of having a weapon on his person.

Career criminal among 4 arrested

Lake Wales, FL -- A routine traffic stop in Lake Wales Tuesday resulted in the recovery of a stolen laptop computer and the arrest of four people, one of which, detectives say, has a lengthy criminal arrest history.

According to the sheriff's office, on Nov. 2, deputies stopped 31-year-old Christopher Eismon, of Lake Wales, during a routine traffic stop in the area of the Lake Wales Inn. Eismon was arrested for Driving with License Suspended or Revoked.

Lakeland, FL -- Michele "Mick" Pugliese, owner of Il Forno Italian Restaurant, has always been there for the Lakeland Police Department to help raise money for those in need.

The department says Il Forno's has held numerous spaghetti dinners for officers and civilians in need of financial assistance.  Pugliese's generosity and compassion, along with his staff's, helped ease the burdens of an officer who was sick and unable to work, a family member in need of an expensive operation, and a family whose house unexpectedly went up in flames.

Laura Neidringhaus named Inwood Elementary Asst. Principal

Winter Haven, FL -- Superintendent Dr. Sherrie B. Nickell appointed Mrs. Laura Neidringhaus as the new Assistant  Principal of Inwood Elementary School at the Oct. 25 Polk County School Board Meeting.  Neidringhaus’ appointment became effective Oct. 17, 2011.

Mrs. Neidringhaus began her career with Polk County Public Schools in 1995 at Snively Elementary, where she taught 4th grade and 5th grade.  Since 1998, Neidringhaus has taught 4th grade and has been a Title I Program Facilitator at Garden Grove Elementary School.

Missing teen comes home

Haines City, FL -- A missing Haines City teen came home Friday.

According to police, around 3 p.m. on Oct. 28, David Allen Jones Jr. turned himself in to detectives from the Haines City Police Department in North Lakeland. He was unharmed and told police he had been staying with a friend in Plant City because he does not like the rules at home.

David's mother reported the Boone Middle School teen missing on Oct. 12 after he left home on his bicycle and never came home.
