Winter Haven, Florida -- UPDATE: Winter Haven Police say 16-year-old Mckenzie Benton has been located and reunited with her mother.
Detectives said they followed leads throughout the day, which included her friends and strangers in the community. She was later found Monday afternoon in the Inwood area by detectives.
Winter Haven Police are asking for the public's help in locating a 16-year-old girl who was last seen Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.
Mckenzie Angel Benton, 16, was at her home located at 2300 Avenue E NW when she was confronted by her mother about Mckenzie communicating with older males through social networking sites. All electronics were taken from Mckenzie and she was also told she could not go to any of her friends.
She indicated to her mother that she wanted to spend the night with her father and packed some belongings. Her father had been notified by her mother about the social networking sites and he also indicated his displeasure.
Mckenzie went back to her mother's home, ultimately leaving without her mother knowing. She has not been seen or heard from since.
Mckenzie is described as 5'03", 150 lbs, long blonde hair and was last seen wearing jean shorts and a gray shirt with writing on the front and back.
Benton was also carrying a brown backpack with pink hearts, packed with clothing.
