FDOT: Several lane closures throughout Polk County next week

Polk County, Florida-- Motorists can expect several lane closures throughout Polk County next week.

Starting Monday, Sept. 9:

  • Duke Energy will be replacing poles and power lines along a 1.25-mile stretch of the eastbound travel lane of CR 630 just west of Fort Meade. Work will require intermittent lane closures for three to five weeks.

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 11:

  • Travel lanes along Rifle Range Road and Eagle Lake Loop Road will be closed for geotechnical study adjacent to bridge crossings. Rifle Range Road lane closures will occur about a half-mile north of SR 60 and last four days.
  • Lane closures along Eagle Lake Loop Road will take place about 800 feet east of Rifle Range Road and last two days. 

Motorists are advised to drive with caution, be alert to workers and equipment, and add extra time to their trips in these areas.
