Florida Poly board member resigns
News

LAKELAND, Florida - The Florida Polytechnic Board of Trustees has lost a member before the university even opened.

Joseph Caruncho, 54, was a Gov. Rick Scott appointee to the BOT, but resigned after missing a number of meetings.  Caruncho is the CEO of Preferred Care Partners in South Florida and the commute from Miami to Lakeland may have proven too difficult.

TIMELINE: Florida Poly's controversial history

Governor Scott will have the opportunity to appoint another member to the BOT.  Ten of the board's 13 seats are currently filled; eventually two seats will be filled by members of the student body and faculty.
