Polk Schools accepting applications for free, reduced lunches | News
Bartow, Florida -- Starting Aug. 1, the Polk County School Nutrition Department will offer parents the opportunity to apply for the free and reduced price meal program for families in need.
To complete the application go to www.polk-fl.net and search keyword "Nutrition". There's also an option of completing a paper application at the school where the student will be attending classes for the upcoming school year.
Also, this school year Polk County Public Schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Option (CEO) pilot program.
All students who attend pre-selected schools identified as having a high percentage of low-income students will be served free breakfasts and lunches without having to fill out a qualifying application for the free and reduced meal programs.
