Trial underway for 2008 triple murder | News
Bartow, Florida -- The murder trial for a man accused of killing three people at an Auburndale nightclub in 2008 is underway in Bartow.
Davion Parson, now 24, tried to buy a one-way ticket to Jamaica to flee the country after the fatal shootings of two musicians: 35-year-old Michael S. Rattigan, of Riverview, and 29-year-old Antone G. Neely, of Tampa. An associate, 29-year-old Kevin J. Webster of Deltona, was also died in the shooting.
Polk County Sheriff's detectives say the killings may have been in retaliation for a stabbing that occurred earlier that month.
During their investigation, authorities said Parson was upset that a friend had been stabbed during a fight that Rattigan helped break up at the bar two weeks earlier.
Prosecutors told jurors the bar inside the Thunder Bird Inn erupted in panic during the shooting.
If convicted, Parson faces life in prison.
