Victim unharmed when gun misfires, suspect arrested | News
Winter Haven, Florida-- Winter Haven Police officials say after two weeks of searching, they have finally found and arrested an "armed and extremely dangerous" suspect- wanted for trying to shoot a victim in the head.
10 News told you about the April 28th incident, when 27-year-old Dorale Sermons reportedly held a gun to a victim's head in front of a large crowd at the Spring Lake Plaza.
Onlookers told investigators that a loud "click" noise lead them to believe that Sermons even pulled the trigger, but that the gun misfired and left the victim unharmed.
Sermons fled the scene and was on the loose up until Friday morning.
According to Winter Haven PD's most recent report, police officers and Polk deputies found Sermons, who is from Haines City, at an apartment in Winter Haven around 10:30 a.m.
He's since been arrested and booked at the Polk County Jail.
Sermons is no stranger to serving time. Reports indicate he has a violent criminal history that dates back to 1999 and includes charges like first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and battery on law enforcement officer...among others.
