Tampa Bay, Florida -- Unseasonably cold weather will make for a very chilly start Thursday morning for the Tampa Bay area and Nature Coast.  

A freeze warning is in effect for Citrus and Hernando counties from 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday. 

A frost advisory is in effect for Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, Highlands, Hardee, and Desoto counties from 4 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Cold weather shelters open in Hillsborough again tonight

Expect low temperatures in the mid 30's for the Nature Coast to the mid 40's for coastal and southern zones. 

We will begin a gradual warm-up on Thursday as our winds shift to the northeast by the afternoon. Highs on Thursday will range from the upper 60's to the mid 70's under sunny skies.  

Temperatures will warm to the upper 70's and low 80's by the weekend.

Overnight: Mostly clear, with a low around 41. North northeast wind 3 to 8 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Wind chill values as low as 38 early. North northeast wind 5 to 9 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. North northeast wind 3 to 7 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 74. Northeast wind 5 to 9 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52. North northwest wind around 7 mph becoming east northeast after midnight.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. East wind around 8 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. West southwest wind around 7 mph becoming east southeast after midnight.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. East southeast wind 8 to 13 mph.
