Gator Wranglin' training

Lakeland, FL - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) conducted a multi-agency alligator handling and safety training class at the Lakeland Police Department firing range.

Wednesday's training was attended by 40 representatives from seven agencies in the southwest Florida area.

The training focused on the proper and safe way to secure alligators, as well as which agencies should be contacted in case of an emergency involving the animals.

During the training, 11 alligators ranging in size from 5-10 feet were used to illustrate their immense strength and speed.

Now locals can rest assured that law enforcement can assist in any alarming alligator situation!
