Cops: 'Habitually violent' man wanted for sexual battery | News
Winter Haven, FL -- Carl Laventure, 57, is wanted in Polk County after he reportedly threatened to kill a woman, sexually battered her in her own home and stole her car to flee the scene.
According to officials, the woman met Laventure through a friend, and invited him into her home off of Thronhill Hill Rd. Sunday evening.
It was around 11:30 p.m. when, reports say, Laventure pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her, before forcing her into her bedroom and sexually battering her.
Laventure then left the home in her car, a 2006, Silver, two-door Pontiac.
The victim reportedly suffered minor injuries from the incident, and was released from a local hospital after receiving treatment.
Polk County Sheriff's detectives now ask for the public's assistance in locating Laventure, who they say has an extensive criminal arrest history and is listed as a habitual violent felony offender.
Laventure reportedly has two additional warrants out for his arrest at this time because of other crimes.
Anyone with information regarding Laventure's whereabouts should contact Detective Matthew Coleman at 863-298-6940, or 863-298-6200.
