UPDATE: Missing elderly Auburndale couple found

Auburndale, Florida -- Update: The couple has been located in Taylor County. The Taylor County Sheriff's Office stopped the couple as a result of the Silver Alert. They were found to be coherent and fine. 

The couple was released and were driving back home. They did not give a reason as to why they were so far away from home. Family members were contacted and said they were fine with the couple driving home.


Officials are searching for an elderly couple missing out of Auburndale this evening. 

They are 77-year-old Walter Schwarz-nau, and his 76-year-old wife, Erna.  

Walter reportedly has Dementia and Erna get disoriented at night.

The couple was last seen by their daughter yesterday morning in Auburndale. Then, early this morning, they were stopped by a state trooper on US highway 19 in Hernando County.   

They were supposed to be on their way home, but they never made it.  

It turns out their cell phone pinged in the area of old town in levy county around noon today. 

They are traveling in their Bronze, 2009, 4-door BMW with the license plate  0-3-5-H-E-K.  

They both have a thick german accent.
