Bartow, Florida -- One of the toughest parts of getting a new job is getting up to speed with the newest techniques to improve your chances of landing that job.

Beginning this Wednesday, job seekers in the Bartow area will be able to prepare resumes, submit applications, and search for jobs online with the help of trained Polk Works staff in their own communities.

The Polk Works Mobile One-Stop Unit will be adding locations in Fort Meade and Frostproof starting in October.

Polk County, FL-- The Florida Department of Health announced that Polk County Health Department (PCHD) Director, Dr. Daniel Haight, accepted the position of Associate Vice President of Community Health at Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC). 

The transition, they say, is expected to occur over the next month, and Dr. Ulyee Choe will serve as Interim PCHD Director, as of November 19.

Bartow, Florida -- This Saturday, Oct. 20, folks are invited to make strides against breast cancer by participating in the Making Strides walk at Mosaic Park.

To help raise funds and awareness join the Making Strides walk Oct. 20 at Bartow's Mosaic Park. It starts at 9 a.m.

"Your reason for putting on your pink bra and walking in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Walk is as unique and special as the story that motivates you," organizers say.

More than likely, you or someone you know has been affected by breast cancer in some way.

With so many changes in healthcare these days, there are bound to be plenty of questions.

The seminars take place Tuesday, September 25 and Saturday, September 29 at 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Florida Blue Retail Center.
