Free Driving Classes Now Available

Polk County, Florida-- The Florida Virtual School (FLVS) and Florida Safety Council are now taking applications for free behind-the-wheel driving lessons and a free in-depth online driver education course. Teenagers ages 14 ½ or older are eligible to enroll, but are not eligible to take the exam for their learners permit until age 15. Students receive general elective credit for completing the course. Upon the completion of the FLVS online course, students are entitled to six hours of free behind the wheel driving lessons in real traffic with the Florida Safety Council.

There is no cost for these lessons and the hours of instruction are agreed upon by the student/parent and the Florida Safety Council instructor. Please note, this course will not be counted toward the student’s virtual graduation requirement, but will be considered a general elective starting Monday, July 1, 2013.
