Haunting stories make for Halloween Fun at weekend event

Bartow, Florida -- In an age of horror and slasher movies, nothing really scares-up spooky images like a great horror tale.

So starting this weekend and for two successive weekends in October, the public can experience some of literature's greatest horror stories told by their ghostly writers in a candlelit mansion.

Scared to Death by Literature invites participants to rotate through four rooms as costumed interpreters masterfully retell stories from the Victorian period, hailed as the golden age of classic horror tales.

The entertaining event provides substantive insight into the world views of some of literature's finest writers, Scared to Death Volume 3 is a unique presentation and is a fundraiser for Geneva Classical Academy.

This week's event is October 18th and 19th from 7:30 PM until 10:00 PM at Kingscliff, located at 987 Lake Hollingsworth Drive in nearby Lakeland.

The cost is less than a movie these days, $10 for adults and just $5 students.

Tickets are available at the door. Have fun!
