Bartow building going Solar | Environment
Bartow, FL -- They don't call us the "Sunshine State" for nothing.
Starting in September, several of Bartow's municipal buildings will be fitted with solar panels which city officials estimate could save around $15,000 a year in energy costs.
The project is being funded by a 2009 stimulus grant. Bartow only has to pay to insure the panels, which are provided by DCS Energy.
They're scheduled to be installed on Bartow City Hall, the police station, water plant, and other municipal structures.
