Bartow Police issue Friday Fest traffic warning

Bartow, FL -- Friday Fest means fun, but it also means tons of traffic, and though this is a monthly event, officials say this month there are changes you need to know about.

That's why Bartow Police have issued an early warning for area locals to consider for this coming Friday, September 20.

Drivers are advised that the stage area for Friday Fest will be re-located for this event to Wilson Avenue. Because of that, Wilson Avenue will be closed for the set-up of the event starting early in the afternoon.

Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes on Friday afternoon to avoid this new road closure. All other avenues for exit will remain the same, and Main Street and Broadway Avenue will remain open as usual until the event start time.

If you've never been to a Friday Fun Fest (AKA Bartow TowJam), it's known as Mainstreet Bartow's block party, and it includes live music, great food, soft drinks, and adult beverages. A "Cruise-N Car" show are also said to be part of the event.
