PCSO seeks grave robbers

Polk City, FL -- Polk County Sheriff's deputies need the public's help identifying the suspect(s) responsible for grave desecration in Polk City.

Sometime between Jan. 8 and Jan. 18, the suspect(s) disturbed four gravesites at the Old Platt Cemetery located on Barfield Road east of Smith Road in Polk City.

The suspect(s) also possibly removed remains from some of the graves.

Polk County Sheriff's Office needs help finding robber

Wahneta, FL -- Polk County Sheriff's deputies need the public's help locating the suspect involved in a burglary and theft at the Moe's Market, at 275 Rifle Range Rd in Wahneta.

Around 2:55 a.m. on Jan. 18, an unknown white male suspect wearing camouflage pants, desert style military boots, a dark jacket, and a black ski mask threw a concrete block through the front glass door of the business.

Haines City, FL -- Haines City police say Luis Daniel Rivera had just returned to his home at 1608 Robinson Dr. in Haines City with his girlfriend around 7:45 p.m. Friday night when he was shot a few minutes later.

It happened after Rivera says he noticed that the living room light they left on was turned off. He says he looked through the window and saw that his TV was missing and stated to his girlfriend, "We've been robbed."

Rivera and his girlfriend entered the house. Rivera went towards the kitchen and his girlfriend went towards the back bedroom where she was confronted by a man.

Lakeland, FL -- Lakeland police say they found the body of 53-year-old Robin Nock Windsor inside her apartment around 10 p.m. Friday.


Windsor lived at Bonny Apartments, which is located at 1108 South Road 98, near the corner of South Road 98 and New Jersey Road.


Lakeland police describe it as a "brutal homicide."


Marjorie York says she goes to church with Windsor and her mom every Sunday and hosts them for bible study on Mondays.

Bank of America held up, police search for suspect

Winter Haven, FL -- The Bank of America, located at 888 Cypress Gardens Blvd. in Winter Haven was held up at this afternoon.

At approximately 12:10 p.m., a male wearing a ski mask and gloves, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds approached a teller indicating he had a weapon and demanded cash.

He left in a newer model black Mazda 3 four-door hatchback. There were beads or an air freshener hanging from the rearview mirror.

Bail denied for teen in weekend gang shooting

BARTOW, FL -- A Polk County judge has ordered 18-year-old Alejandro Baez-Garcia remain held without bail.


Polk County detectives arrested the teen, charging him with killing 18-year-old Juan Castillo and injuring Castillo's 11-year-old brother.


Investigators say Baez-Garcia confessed to the shooting in the 1700 block of West Parker St. in Lakeland.


Baez-Garcia allegedly joined four other gang members in a van, drove by Castillo's home, and opened fire.


Authorities say the two were in rival gangs.

Polk sheriff says teen targeted in deadly shooting

Lakeland, Florida -- A 19-year-old is dead and an 11-year-old is in the hospital after a shooting in Lakeland.


It happened at 1707 West Parker St. in Lakeland. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says Juan Castillo was killed and his brother, Jake, was critically injured when shots were fired outside their home.
