Brothers arrested for child porn possession

Lakeland, Florida -- Two Lakeland brothers are facing multiple counts of child porn possession after a search of their computers revealed images and videos of children engaged in sex acts.

Polk Sheriff's detectives learned the two were possibly downloading and distributing the child porn from two computers at the home they shared with their mother in the 5200 block of Dismuke Drive. After a seizure and search of the computers content confirmed that, the two were arrested.

Detectives say both brothers admitted to the crimes.

Lakeland doc arrested for trafficking prescription pills

Lakeland, Florida -- Dr. Aaron Roush was escorted out of his office by a Polk County Sheriff's Deputy on Thursday. The sign out in front of the South Florida Avenue business in Lakeland says Uphoria Medical Spa. And Sheriff Grady Judd says what went on behind the doors had much more to do with achieving a state of euphoria than with medicine.

"This guy is a bad guy, this guy is a dope dealer," Judd told reporters at a news conference outside of the building.

Cash reward for burglary information

Lakeland, Florida -- Heartland Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for a burglary. 

The burglary took place on February 26, 2013 on East Belvedere Street in Lakeland. The owner of the residence returned home while the burglary was in progress, at which point the perpetrator(s) fled.

Police looking for car burglar

Lakeland, Florida -- Police are looking for a man who stole a car in January. 

On January 19, 2013 between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., an unknown black male committed a vehicle burglary at the Family Dollar store located at 1321 Kathleen Road. 

The victim's vehicle was forcibly entered by shattering the right rear passenger window. The pictured subject was observed by a witness as being the one who forcibly entered the victim's vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'11" to 6'1", wearing a black hat and all black clothing.

Crime Stoppers seeks info on "armed and dangerous" suspect, John Spates

Lakeland, Florida-- A flyer from the Heartland Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's assistance in locating an "armed and dangerous" man suspected of having involvement in a shooting late last year. 

According to the report, officials believe 37-year-old John Wesley Spates, AKA John John, played a role in the shooting/aggravated battery incident that took place off the 2500 block of Chestnut Woods Dr. on November 18.

Officials encourage anyone with information on Spates' whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers, or Detective Jason Perez.

Cops: Argument over woman results in stabbing

Lakeland, Florida -- Lakeland Police have a man in custody who they say attacked a man with a knife during an argument Sunday evening.

Witnesses told detectives the two men were arguing over a woman when Archie Sapp, Jr. went into Korey Newton's home in the 700 block of Angelina Lane and punched him in the face and stabbed him in the back multiple times.

Newton, 33, was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries to his lower back. Sapp, 44, was later arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and armed burglary.

Woman accused of asking kids to kill grandparents

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) - A Lakeland, Florida woman accused of asking her children to kill their North Carolina grandparents made her first court appearance Tuesday morning.

Leticia Silva appeared emotional in court as she asked the judge for more time to see her family.
