Man suspected in 2 Polk bank robberies sought

Davenport, Florida -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives need your help finding the man who robbed two Polk County banks on Aug. 28.

Deputies say around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, a man walked into the Mid-Florida Credit Union at 300 Amersweet Way in Davenport and passed the teller a note demanding cash implying he had a gun.

He was described as having on a dread-lock style wig, sunglasses, a mustache and a goatee which appeared to be a disguise and was wearing khaki pants, a white and blue plaid button-up shirt, and tan shoes.

After taking the money, the man took off in a dark-colored SUV that was parked behind the building.

Detectives say the same man is suspected of having committed another robbery earlier the same day at the Bank of America on Havendale Boulevard.

He is described as a black male with a light complexion, about 6 feet tall and between 200 and 201 pounds.
