Salvage yard busted for buying stolen goods

Mulberry, Florida -- A salvage yard owner and three employees were arrested Monday after Polk Sheriff's detectives say they knowingly bought stolen goods.

Detectives opened an investigation into T&M Salvage after three men -- arrested for over 70 charges including grand theft and dealing in stolen property -- told them they took several of the stolen trailers to the salvage yard and sold them as scrap metal.

After looking into the alleged transactions at the salvage yard, detectives noted the paperwork was written to reflect that the trailers were "unprepared steel", and that the owner or employees did not obtain the required paperwork and titles.
