Lake Wales, Florida -- Four people were arrested July 2 after over $13,000 in drugs were seized during the search of a home near a Lake Wales daycare center.

Lake Wales Police officers, along with other department units, conducted the search of the home in the 100 block of W. Dr. JA Wiltshire Avenue which they described as a "trap house" -- a place to sell illegal narcotics where those who come to purchase them, sometimes with money, sometimes with stolen property.

In all, officers seized:

  • Over 680 grams of cannabis with a street value of $7,440
  • 27 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $2,700
  • 860 grams of synthetic cannabis with a street value of $3,440;
  • Over $1,680 in U.S. currency
  • 2 flat screen TVs
  • 3 pistols, two of which were previously reported stolen by the Polk County Sheriff's Office

Nineteen-year-old Keanthony Kingcade, 24-year-old Deon McKnight, 26-year-old Karry Devero and 26-year-old Jarre Hymes were each charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a daycare facility, possession of cannabis with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a daycare facility, conspiracy to sell cocaine and conspiracy to sell cannabis.

Devero was also charged with possession
of cannabis less than 20 grams.
