Lakeland, Florida -- One man has been arrested and detectives are searching for a second who attacked a man and robbed him of his tablet.

Lakeland Police officers say around 3:48 a.m. Monday, 19-year-old Matthew Johnson was sitting in a chair outside the Ashford Inn in the 1000 block of Lakeshore Drive when he was approached from behind by two men.

Johnson was hit in the back of the head multiple times and robbed of his Acer Tablet valued at $250. They then fled on foot.

Johnson was able to provide a good description to officers of one of the men who had multiple tattoos on his arms. While officers were casing the area, one of them spotted a man who matched the man's description walking through the parking lot of a BP gas station in the 1200 block of Lakeland Hill Boulevard.

Kyle Oneal was detained and Johnson was able to confirm to police he was one of the men who attacked him. Officers also found Johnson's tablet wrapped in a green shirt next to a fuel pump at the gas station.

During his arrest, Oneal reportedly admitted to his participation in the robbery with a knife. Detectives are still investigating and are trying to identify the second suspect.

Oneal was charged with armed robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
