Lakeland, Florida -- Polk Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help identifying the man who robbed a CVS Pharmacy store Tuesday.

Police say the man entered the store in the 2500 block of Hwy 92 E, got a soda from the coolers, walked to the counter and handed the clerk a $10 bill. When the employee opened the cash register, the man reached over tried to grab the drawer. The employee grabbed his hand to stop him but he managed to steal around $26 along with his original $10.

The man fled the store around the east side of the building, leaving his soda behind. Detectives believe he was picked up in a vehicle or drove away himself.

The employee was not injured.

He is described as an Hispanic male, in his mid 20’s, thin build, wavy medium hair combed back, thin beard. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, khaki pants, and black sneakers.
