Police: Lakeland trucker hid pot with cantaloupes | Crime
Lakeland, Florida -- A Lakeland trucker was arrested earlier this month for using watermelon and cantaloupe to conceal 50 pounds of marijuana.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services says Gabriel Murillo was driving the fruit-filled truck when he was stopped on Interstate 10 by an officer after he allegedly failed to stop at an Agriculture Interdiction Station in Suwannee County. He was escorted back to the inspection station where officers discovered marijuana in clear bags among the fruit.
According to the Department of Agriculture, Gabriel Murillo was charged with trafficking marijuana over 25 pounds, failure to stop for an inspection, and driving while license is suspended.
