$3 million prize claimed in Gold Rush Scratch off game

Tampa, FL-- A Winter Haven trio recently claimed a $3 million prize in Tallahassee after playing the Florida Lottery Gold Rush Tripler Scratch-Off game. 

According to lottery reps, Carmela A. Ventura Revocable Living Trust trustees- Francesco Ventura, Carmela A. Ventura and Antonio F. Musso- claimed the prize after purchasing the ticket at the Saveway Food Mart off the 300 block of State Road 60 in Tampa. 

One $3 million top prize, and two $500,000 prizes remain.

Bartow, FL -- The "Team Never Give Up 3rd Annual Auction Vendor Event" will include its 3rd Annual Silent Auction and Vendor Event on February 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be vendors, a bake sale, used books and lunch.

Organizers say their largest portion of the event is an auction.

This year, participants will be able to bid on several autographed items.

Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Bartow, Florida -- Folks from Bartow and all over Polk County, who are ready to learn new skills, meet new people, and have fun are asked to join the staff of Bok Tower Gardens.

Bok is holding its annual Volunteer Job Fair on Thursday, January 24 from 2 - 3:30 p.m.

Information will be available from a variety of Gardens' departments that offer volunteer opportunities.

Organizers say there's some incentive too.

Polk Co., FL-- The Empty Bowls Dinner Gala is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 1 to benefit the Agape Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities of Central Florida. 

Organizers say the event will  feature a live and silent auction of over 60 ceramic bowls, all hand painted by local and national celebrities to remind attendees of the more than 24,000 households in Polk County who struggle to put food on the table every day.

Lakeland, FL-- A Polk County Sheriff's Office detective and her family could really use your help tomorrow night. 

According to a release from the sheriff's office, detective Zulaika “Zoe” Vizcarrondo fell seriously ill while six-months pregnant several weeks ago. Her baby boy was born three months premature on December 20, 2012, as a result of complications from Zoe’s illness. Both she and her tiny son, Juliano, remain hospitalized.

Lakeland, FL-- The City of Lakeland's Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Parade is Saturday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m.

The parade will begin at 14th Street and Kathleen Rd, ending on Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and 2nd Street.
