Some concerned civic groups in the Four Corners area saw a need at Davenport’s Loughman Oaks Elementary and did something about it.

The Four Corners area is generally the Davenport, Haines City, Kissimmee and Poinciana vicinities and is the area where the counties of Polk, Osceola, Lake and Orange counties intersect.

Approximately 80 percent of Loughman Oaks Elementary students are considered economically disadvantaged, qualifying for free and reduced price school meals.

Civic groups led by the Four Corners Area Council and Davenport Four Corners Kiwanis organized the "Green Bag Project" at Loughman. The "Green Bag Project" provides food and clothing to disadvantaged Loughman students and families.
