Bartow, FL -- The Polk County Historical Museum Festival of Wreaths is issuing a call for Decorators! This year marks the Polk County Historical Museum's first celebration of the Festival of Wreaths.

The display and sale of hand-decorated wreaths will occur during the holiday season opening with Bartow's "Magic on Main" event, Nov. 18, and closing Dec. 16 at the Polk County Historical Museum located at 100 E. Main St., Bartow.

Eagle Lake Elementary receives Water Management Grant

When your school is on a roll for receiving grants, you must be doing something right. That’s exactly what is happening at Eagle Lake Elementary in Polk County.

For the eighth year in a row, Eagle Lake has received the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFMD) Splash! mini grant. The $3,000 award was announced by Eagle Lake teachers Robin Rogers and Kathi Decker.

Bartow, FL -- Good food for a good cause is available this Tuesday for a discount!

Today, Nov. 15, from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m., Abuelo's at Lakeside Village will be holding a benefit night for TiAnViCa.

TiAnViCa provides recreational therapeutic riding for individuals with disabilities. Each week, they work with over 30 children, youth and adults.

Women in Philanthrophy gives over $75,000 to grant recipients

Lakeland, FL -- The Lakeland Regional Medical Center Foundation announced Friday the 2011 grant recipients who will receive funds from the Women in Philanthropy giving society. The grant recipients were revealed during the group’s annual luncheon on Friday, Nov. 4 at the Lakeland Center.
