Emergency Services of Polk Co. to reflect on Sept. 11

Polk County, FL -- As the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 approaches, emergency services of Polk County and the Polk County Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team are preparing for “A Day of Reflection.”

This celebration of life and service offers emergency responders an opportunity to honor their comrades who gave all in the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

Incorporating many public safety agencies, the ceremony will include a dramatic reading, guest speakers, special music and a candle lighting ceremony with one flame representing each responder lost.

This is an occasion for emergency service personnel and their families to “Remember Their Own and Take Care of Their Own”.

The event begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11 at Lake Eva Banquet Hall, 799 Johns Ave. in Haines City.

It is open to the public with a special invitation extended to all emergency medical services, fire, and law enforcement personnel, past and present.
