Bartow, FL -- The Bartow Chamber of Commerce has announced a basketball game between the 2010 5A State Champion basketball team members and the current Bartow High School (BHS) boys basketball team will be played at Carver Recreation Center on Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m.

"This will be an exciting match," Carver Recreation Center Director, Larry Tucker, said. "Some of the Championship team players from last year are home now from college for a short time, so we got them to agree to play and hopefully raise some money for the current team's uniforms."

The basketball game will feature the current BHS Boys Basketball Team vs. 2010 5A State Champion team members Jeremiah "JFrog" Samarrippas of Southern Methodist University, Weedlens Beauvil of Stetson University, Richard Murvin of Polk State College, Jamal Lawson of Graceland University in Iowa, Tevin Grant of Pensacola State College, plus other players from past teams.

"Carver Recreation Center offers about 400 very good seats," Tucker said.

Tickets will be available at the door on a first come, first served basis. Cost is $2 for adults and $1 for students.

For more information, call the Carver Recreation Center office at (863) 534-0161.
