Local bank helps teachers improve financial literacy

Polk County, FL -- Fifth Third Bank announced it will be holding a Teacher Workday to help improve the financial literacy in Polk County for teachers on Jan. 2.

During the workday, executives from Fifth Third Bank (Tampa Bay) will visit six Polk County schools to discuss financial literacy and provide identity theft protection advice to more than 420 teachers. Other topics that may be discussed include budgeting, saving, credit building and information on the HARP updates.

Bartow Senior High School and Mulberry High School also participate in the Dave Ramsey program, which offers financial literacy classes to local high school students.
