Bartow, FL -- The Central Florida Development Council’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a series of business seminars in July designed to assist individuals interested in starting a new business, develop business plans to attract financing, and help qualified businesses become minority certified with the State of Florida.  

Individuals preparing to start a business should attend “Steps to Starting a Small Business” 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12. The cost is $35.

Doing Business as a State of Florida Minority Business Enterprise on Wednesday, July 27 will help those who want to become certified discover opportunities available for women and minority firms in the government and private sectors. It will be held 10 a.m. – noon and cost $35.

Building the Ultimate Business Plan will teach participants how to research a target market, estimate sales and learn how much business the owner will need to succeed. The $70 seminar will be held 1:30 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13.

The seminars on July 12 and 27 will be held at the Neil Combee County Administration Building, Room 139 (first floor), 330 West Church Street in Bartow.

The July 13 seminar will be held at the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, 35 Lake Morton Drive in Lakeland.
