Lakeland, FL -- Lakeland officials along with Direct Air welcomed the first day of new service from the Polk County city today, June 23.

Direct Air, based in Myrtle Beach, SC is the first to provide flights from the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport to four cities:

  • Hagerstown, MD, (Washington, DC area)
  • Myrtle Beach, SC
  • Niagara Falls (Buffalo/Toronto area)
  • Springfield, IL (central Illinois) offering flights where service did not exist

To celebrate the new service Direct Air is offering low cost flights with fares beginning at $79 each way with no carry on fees.  Flights from Lakeland will be on jet aircraft with 139 passenger First-Class and Coach-Class seating.
