Another great few days here at the Intel ISEF in California.  The weather has been awesome here in L.A. and we couldn't ask for better.

Tuesday was a day for the press to come interview students at their projects and I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by a reporter from Brazil.

Later Tuesday night, we enjoyed an incredible  mixer for the students and adults sponsored by Intel and ISEF.  They were gracious enough to rent out Club Nokia (a nightclub where students only were allowed in), the Conga room (upscale lounge for people 21 and older), Lucky Strike's (a bowling alley), as well as the ESPN building where there was an arcade and bar; all of which are located in the L.A. Live complex in downtown L.A.

It was a great opportunity to meet other students, teachers and parents from around the world. This has truly been an international experience!

Wednesday was a full day of judging that started at 8:30 a.m. and went to 6:00 p.m. with about two and a half hours of breaks in between.  It was exciting to have the opportunity once again to present my project to the judges that have either a Ph.D. or 6 years of experience in the field they are judging.

With the best of the best students from around the world competing against each other the competition is stiff, but there is still a friendly atmosphere amongst the students.  I am stationed next to students from the UK, Puerto Rico, as well as all over the United States which gives a lot of diversity amongst us and allows us all to learn about the cultures from around the world.

After judging on Wednesday, the entire ISEF group enjoyed a free night at Universal Studios Hollywood all to ourselves for 6 hours which was a blast.  Kirstie and I did everything there was to offer which includes Jurassic Park water ride, Shrek 4-D, The Mummy, and more!  ISEF and its sponsors have definately done a great job at giving us students things to do and I wish I had the ability to come back next year.

Today (Thursday) is public visitation day as well as the special awards ceremony this evening.  I will hopefully have time to give another update on awards tomorrow morning if I can sneak in a few minutes before I have to go to the airport.
