Lakeland, FL - Comedian turned 'Price-is-Right' host Drew Carey is returning to his stand-up roots with a whole new comedy act.

He's performing at The Lakeland Center on Friday, January 10th at 8pm.

Tickets go on sale Friday, September 13th at 9:30am for $45 and $75 (service charges will apply). The highly successful stand-up comic turned actor and producer, Drew Carey earned the distinction of having two hit shows airing simultaneously: the long-running comedy "The Drew Carey Show," which ran from 1995-2004, and the improv/sketch show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" on which he was host and a producer. Then in July 2007 after initially turning the offer, Carey was named the host of "THE PRICE IS RIGHT," succeeding longtime host Bob Barker and becoming a part of America's daily television routine.  

Returning to his comedic roots with a whole new stand-up routine, the Cleveland native is once again giving fans the opportunity to experience his comedy in a live and intimate setting.

Drew began his stand-up career in 1985 and after winning an open-microphone contest; he became Master of Ceremonies at the Cleveland Comedy Club eventually earning a headlining spot at comedy clubs in both Cleveland and Los Angeles.  

The former Marine first gained national recognition after competing in the 1988 "Star Search." Carey was working as a stand-up comedian when he appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" in November 1991 and his performance that night impressed Carson, who invited Carey to the coveted spot on his couch next to his desk.

In that same year, Carey joined the "14th Annual Young Comedians Special" on HBO and made his first appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman."

In 1994, he wrote his own stand-up comedy special which aired on Showtime, entitled "Drew Carey: Human Cartoon," for which he won a CableACE Award for Best Writing. His meteoric career is a testament to hard work and dedication and fans will enjoy this rare opportunity to experience Drew's unique comedy live on stage.
