Bartow, FL -- The 12th Annual L.B. Brown Festival takes place in Bartow during Black History month - this Friday through Sunday.

The event, which is held at the L.B. Brown House, features entertainment, education and fun for the whole family.

The yard acoss the street from the historical house is loaded with people selling crafts and food. There will also be games for the children. 

This year's theme for the festival is African Americans and The Civil War and will feature Jarvis Rosier who will speak Saturday of U.S. African American Troops participation in the Civil War. There will be a group of black Seminole warriors and on Friday there will be a presentation of the L.B. Brown Youth Leadership Awards.

The events take place from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. along L. B. Brown Avenue in Bartow. Sunday hours are noon - 6 p.m.
