Looking to keep their dream of a state title alive the Lakeland Dreadnaughts were playing host to Fleming Island tonight.  But a win against the Golden Eagles would not come easy.

In the first Lakeland drew first blood as Steward Butler rumbled for a 54-yard touchdown.  Shortly after Fleming Island responded with a field goal to make it 7-3.

In the second, the Dreadnaughts looked for a little breathing room as they rattled off back-to-back touchdowns from Steward Butler and Tim Evans.  But just before halftime the visiting Golden Eagles reached the end zone on a run by Kent Minor.

How did a city that promotes its Southern charm get its name from a seriously Southern dead man? And it may sound Spanish, but this town's name was invented by a university professor.

Why do they call it Valrico?

Even plenty of folks who live in this east Hillsborough County area don't know about one section of town.

A man, lost in the desert, makes this interesting promise to a saint: lead me to safety, and I'll name a city in Florida after you! Plus, a North-South crossroads in Polk County.

Why do they call it San Antonio?

Lost in the Arizona desert, Judge Edmund Dunne prayed for help.

He asked for aid from a saint renowned for locating lost things -- in this case, himself.

His pledge? Sorta strange: "If he was able to get out of the desert alive, that he would name a settlement in Florida after him, because he was already thinking about moving to Florida and starting a settlement," said Rodney Kite Powell, curator of history at the Tampa Bay History Center.

Dunne did survive.

His prayers were apparently answered by St. Anthony -- in Spanish, that's San Antonio. The same saint behind this Pasco County town also gave his name to San Antonio, Texas.
