At least 10 homes damaged by storms

Haines City, FL - Straight line winds tore through a community, leaving several homes damaged.

Wednesday night's storm ripped through parts of the Davenport RV neighborhood, damaging at least 10 homes. Linda McDougald's home was hit the hardest.  The retiree wasn't concerned with the damage as much as the family cat.

"I ran inside and found Daisy. Daisy was fine and there was no water inside, so everything was good," said Linda.

Linda is keeping a positive attitude and staying optimistic as she weathers this storm.

UPDATE: Winter Haven teens missing after planning to run away together

Winter Haven, Florida -- UPDATE: 15 yr old Angel Santiago Munoz  and 13 yr old Layla Soleil Fernandez were located safe in Winter Haven late last night.

The Winter Haven Police Department is looking for two teens who allegedly ran away together after making plans for more than a week. 

Severe weather leaves mark on Tampa Bay area

Tampa Bay, Florida-- Severe Thunderstorms swept the Tampa Bay area Wednesday afternoon, resulting in several severe thunderstorm warnings, and a tornado warning for three counties. 

Though the storm was relatively short-lived, it left its mark in multiple Bay area communities. 

Two pit bulls that attacked 6-year-old euthanized

Lakeland, Florida -- The two pit bulls that attacked a 6-year-old girl, and three other people, have been euthanized.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office tells 10 News the dogs' owner, Tonya Morse, surrendered them last week.

Deputies say the pit bulls were humanely euthanized.

The pair of dogs jumped a fence in Lakeland back in December and mauled the little girl as she played in her backyard.

Silver Alert Update: John Happy missing out of Haines City

Haines City, Florida -- Update: The Polk County Sheriff's Office has canceled the Silver Alert issued on Feb. 11 for 89-year-old John Thomas Happy.

Deputies say Happy has been found safe in Orange County.

Woman pleads no contest in husband's shooting

BARTOW, Florida (AP) - A central Florida woman has pleaded no contest in her husband's fatal shooting.

With her trial set for next week, 57-year-old Sheree Peters pleaded no contest Tuesday to manslaughter, tampering with physical evidence and possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Without a plea deal in place, she faces up to 40 years in prison when she is sentenced March 28.

Polk Co. deputies find missing 67-year-old woman

UPDATE: Deputies have located Alice Bomboy safe and sound near her home.

Lakeland, Florida -- The Polk Co. Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing and endangered 67-year-old Lakeland woman.

Alice Bomboy was last seen walking in her neighborhood on Sunday, Feb. 9 around noon. 

She has brown hair and blue eyes. She's 5'2" and is 170 lbs.

Deputies say Alice does not have her ID, money, or medications on her.
